Dirty Electricity and EMFs

Electromagnetic Radiation:

What Is It?

Both magnetic and electric fields can be created by the movement of an electric current. Electric fields can be created by variations in voltage. The intensity of electromagnetic radiation increases with increasing magnetic or electric fields. Although an electric field can exist without a current, when one does, the magnetic field's power consumption varies, whereas the electric field remains constant.

Let’s break it down:

Radiation That Isn't Ionizing:

Low- to mid-frequency electromagnetic radiation falls within this group and is thought to be safe because of how weak it is.

Non-ionizing radiation comes in the following forms:

Examples of very low frequency (ELF), radiofrequency (RF), microwaves, and visual light sources are:

a microwave oven

Computers

Smart energy meters for homes

Wi-Fi wireless networks

Mobile phones

Bluetooth gadgets

electric wires

MRIs

Atomic Radiation

Mid- to high-frequency electromagnetic radiation is a part of this category and can, in certain cases, cause cellular and/or DNA damage after extended exposure.

Ionizing radiation can take the following forms:

ultraviolet X-rays

Gamma

Ionizing electromagnetic radiation comes from a variety of sources:

X-Rays using ultraviolet light

some gamma rays

The World Health Organization states:

Extremely low frequency (ELF) fields, which typically have frequencies up to 300 Hz, include the time-varying electromagnetic fields created by electrical equipment. Our electricity power supply and all electrically powered gadgets are the principal producers of ELF fields.

The main sources of intermediate frequency (IF) fields are computer screens, anti-theft devices, and security systems; their frequencies range from 300 Hz to 10 MHz.

The principal sources of radio frequency (RF) fields are microwave ovens, radio, television, radar, and cellular phone antennas, which range in frequency from 10 MHz to 300 GHz.

Let’s explain now some words that are used daily:

Switching current:

a variation in the strength and direction of an electrical current throughout a regular cycle. An electrical current that changes polarity sixty times per second (from positive to negative and back to positive; a full cycle) is called a 60 Hertz alternating current (AC).

Ampere:

electric current measurement unit. Quantity is measured in amps. Amps are comparable to gallons or buckets of water when compared to volts, which represent pressure.

Amplitude:

Amplitude, or the height of the wave, is the measurement of the largest peak displacement relative to the zero-rest level. Depending on the type of waves we're talking about, the amplitude unit changes. E.g., An electric field's amplitude is expressed in V/m.

Antenna:

A conductor that can transmit and receive EMFs like microwave, radio, or satellite signals is an antenna. A low-gain antenna receives or transmits over a wide-angle, while a high-gain antenna boosts signal intensity. Another name for this metal object is an aerial.

Attenuation

The reverse of amplification is attenuation. It refers to a progressive loss in flux intensity and a resulting fall in signal strength. Due to frequency-dependent attenuation, attenuation for RF shielding products is frequently reported in decibels (dB) at a specific frequency.

Specification for Attenuation

The amount of radiation that passes through a shield is indicated by its attenuation specification.

busbar or bus

It is a metallic strip or bar with screw connections for the grounding or neutral conductors. The busbar is used to distribute high current power locally.

Code

This relates to the National Electrical Code (NEC), which is updated every three years as far as electricity is concerned in the US. Instead of being federal legislation, this is a safety practice that the states have accepted.

Conductors

any substance that allows electrical current to flow in more than one direction. The use of metal as a conductor is common; however, other materials, such as the soil or the human body, can also act as good conductors, which helps to explain some of the health problems associated with metal fillings and EMFs.

Conduits

Although they can be made of PVC or other materials, electrical wiring pipes are typically composed of metal. In certain situations, they can serve as grounding conductors for electrical circuits.

Current

A passage of electric charge across a power line or an electric wire is known as an electric current. Electric current moves via a wire similar to how water does in a pipe. Magnetic fields from where currents flow.

the direct current (DC)

In a contrast to alternating current, or AC, which goes back and forth, direct current is an electric current that only flows in one direction. Alternating current is used in the vast majority of nations.

lines of distribution

electricity supply lines to one or more buildings and communities (main distribution) (secondary distribution). It is, to put it simply, the last step before the energy reaches your home.

EMF exposure and EMF hypersensitivity symptoms

Your neurological system and general health may be impacted by EMFs in several ways. As you now know, when exposed to very high EMF levels, they may cause cell damage, free radical damage, cancer growth, and other atypical growth. Even at lower EMF levels, you could nevertheless have symptoms and health problems. EMF sensitivity varies greatly between individuals.

EMF exposure and EMF hypersensitivity symptoms can include:

Headaches

Fatigue and exhaustion

insomnia or issues with sleeping

Dizziness

Not paying attention

alterations in memory

Depressive disorders or their signs

Anxiety

Restlessness

Irritability

Nausea

appetite loss or weight loss

Itching or painful sensation

skin that is itchy or scorching

Changes in an electroencephalogram, which gauges the electrical activity in your brain.

Tinnitus

Infertility

hormone adjustments

Obesity

difficulties with blood sugar

Significant EMF Risks

1. Magnetic Radiation May Increase Cancer Risk

There are claims that EMF sources, such as cell phones, Wi-Fi routers, and microwaves, could cause cancer, although much more research is a need in this area. In one of these studies on pediatric leukemia, it was discovered that EMFs may expose children to harmful carcinogens at high risk. The outcomes of another trial were inconclusive. In conclusion, more independent study is required.

Cell phone radiation may raise the risk of malignant gliomas in the brain and schwannomas in the ear, according to preliminary findings of a significant, $25 million government study published in 2016. Rare tumors that are found in the nerve sheath are called schwannomas. A dose-response effect was discovered by the investigation.

In other words, the risk increases with increasing doses. The findings supported earlier studies that suggested cell phone radiation can raise the incidence of gliomas. Cell phone use has also been connected to acoustic neuromas.

2. Brain Function Is Affected by Electromagnetic Radiation

Research is being done to determine whether using a cell phone impacts our brains. Even though cell phone EMFs are regarded as modest, research has found that they have an impact on the brain. Lead researcher Dr. Nora D. Volkow from the National Institute on Drug Abuse said that cell phone use causes "changes in brain glucose metabolism."

The Environmental Working Group used focus groups that had cell phones strapped to their heads for research. The trials included periods when cell phones were both turned on and off, varying the stimuli.

3. Electromagnetic Radiation May Promote Alzheimer's Disease

To find out what happens when test subjects are exposed to cell phone radiation, studies were carried out in a lab. The findings imply that electromagnetic radiation may contribute to dementia symptoms. The findings suggested that, in addition to DNA damage, which can result in cancer, neurons in the brain also underwent damage associated with memory loss and severely impacted learning ability.

Even more shocking is the fact that this harm manifested after only two hours following cell phone radiation exposure. The barrier between the circulatory system and the brain appeared to be breached by radiation, according to research, allowing poisons to enter the brain. This is quite frightening.

4. Loss of antioxidant defenses could result from electromagnetic radiation

Antioxidants in our saliva could be lost as a result of using a cell phone. Saliva is important for a variety of reasons, including its role in battling infections. One of our first lines of protection against microbial illnesses is saliva. According to studies, talking on the phone for up to an hour can cause salivary antioxidant levels to drop by 25%.
